Polyacethal - it is engineering plastic, application of which increasingly rises in various industries. Also known as: polyoxymethylene, acethal, and polyforaldehyde. Chemical name - POM. Polyacethal may replace polyamide (PA) in many applications. Its usage is recommended, where lots of moisture accumulates or for work in water. It is especially popular for use in food industry. In comparison to polyamide, mechanical treatment of POM is significantly easier, no splits are left after finishing.

Characteristics:

• Solid, mechanically rigid plastic, resistant to impacts even at low temperatures, features good mechanical characteristics.
• Good surface slippage characteristics, friction resistance.
• Resistance to oil, salt, alkaline, and other chemical substances, except for certain acids.
• Low moisture absorption (under environmental conditions it absorbs up to 0.3 %, as a result good stability of dimensions is retained).
• Extremely easy mechanical workability.
• Density - 1.43 g/cm³.
• Operating temperature:
  • Polyacethal (POM-C): from -50 ^oC to +105 ^oC;
  • Polyacethal (POM-H): from -50 ^oC to +90 ^oC.
• Colour: natural (white), black, others (according to the order).
• Mechanical and physical characteristics do not vary subject to colour.
• POM plastic may be produced with various additives ensuring improved slip resistance, rigidity, anti-static, and other characteristics.
