Polypropylene (PP)
Polypropylene (PP) – it is a chemically resistant, rigid structural plastic featuring good dielectric characteristics. In comparison to other plastics, it is one of the lightest plastics, it does not sink in water as density accounts for 0.92 g/cm3.
Types of polypropylene:
- PP-H - homopolymer (higher rigidity)
- PP-C - copolymer (slightly more flexible, if compared to PP-H)
Other types of polypropylene are also available:
- Expanded (foam) Foamlite ECO with density of 0.7 g/cm3, white or green colour, used for coating of lids and walls, for production of trucks.
- Polypropylene Ortho is designed for treatment by using heat and formation under the action of vacuum, it features natural or light grey colour, does not contract after thermal formation and retains stability of dimensions.
- Polypropylene with textured surface (pattern of orange peel) is designed for basin steps, hot tub benches, and etc.
Characteristics:
- Resistant to acids, alkalis, and corrosion;
- Does not absorb moisture, easy to weld;
- Non-hazardous, hygienic, may be used in contact with foodstuffs and drinking water;
- PP with UV protection, resistant to atmospheric action, thus durable for outdoor applications;
- Colour: natural (whitish), light grey (RAL 7032), black, light blue, white, and other.
Technical data:
- Density: 0.92 g/cm3; for foam - 0.7g /cm3;
- Operating temperature for polypropylene copolymer (PP-C): -30 ÷ +90 oC;
- Operating temperature for polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H): 0 ÷ +100 oC.
Scope of application:
Polypropylene is the most widely used for production of waste water treatment plants, various tanks, basins, outdoor hot tubs, water slides, chemical receptacles, electrolysis baths, ventilation systems, panels, partitions, shelves. Depending on type of polypropylene, stands for medical instruments, trading equipment, orthopaedic, and other items are produced.
If a special order is placed, other types of PP may be delivered for use in technology of medicine, clean premises, semi-conductors, for production of electronics, autoclaves, ventilators, anti-static or fire resistant equipment, including square, rectangular pipes U, L shaped profiles, thick-walled pipes (sleeves).
