Textolite
Engineering plastics for industry › TEXTOLITE
Textolite – it is a multi-layeredelectro-insulation - structural material, base of which is constructed of cotton fabric and thermoreactive tactifying resin. It features good mechanical and anti-friction characteristics. It is easy workable by using all methods of mechanical treatment.
Characteristics:
- Operating temperature of textolite: -40 oC - +105 oC;
- Density: 1.3–1.4 g/cm3;
- Colour: brown.
Scope of application:
Gaskets and parts for electric engines, on which electric and mechanical loads and friction are applied, are produced.Various dielectric panels, sleeves, gears, cylinders, and rolls are produced from textolite. It is used as an alternative material for production of plates for vacuum pumps.
Depending on usage, various cotton fabrics and tactifying resin may be employed for production of textolite. Various additives improve mechanical and thermal characteristics.
